Congratulations RGK Foundation!

Congratulations to the RGK Foundation for being named “Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation/Organization” of the year by the Greater Austin Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. RGK will be honored along with other Austin philanthropic superstars at the 2014 Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon on February 12, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Austin Hotel.

The RGK Foundation was established in 1966 by Ronya and George Kozmetsky.  The Foundation has been a strong backer of one of CADF’s most popular charitable care programs, Healthy Smiles for Texans, which serves older and disabled adults with serious and complex dental conditions.  Because of the generosity and vision of the RGK Foundation, hundreds of Central Texans are now living happy, productive lives free of pain, shame or embarrassment.

Thank You St. David’s Foundation!

The Capital Area Dental Foundation is excited to announce that the St. David’s Foundation has committed to being a Diamond Sponsor of our Great Gatsby Gala and Casino Night on February 8 at the Four Seasons Austin.

The St. David’s Foundation has been an incredible friend and supporter of CADF since our earliest days.  The foundation’s financial support of the Gala and the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) program has allowed CADF to care for a growing number of individuals with untreated, often painful dental conditions.  Just in the past nine months, CADF providers have treated over 600 HAAM members and 50 St. Vincent De Paul parishioners—something that would have been impossible without the continued support of the St. David’s Foundation

To learn more about how YOU can sponsor the 2014 Gala, please contact Julia Campbell at 214-693-6360 or julia@corcoranco.com.

Kudos to CADF!!

CADF Access to Care Committee member, Dr. Shane Matt with Authentic Smiles, was highlighted in last week’s Austin Chronicle for his role in providing dental care to Austin musicians through the popular HAAM/CADF dental care program. Since 2012, CADF dentists have treated hundreds of HAAM members, many of whom had not been to a dentist in years.  Kudos to Dr. Matt and the 30 other CADF dentists who have signed up to treat HAAM members! If you are interested in becoming a HAAM provider, contact CADF Program Director, Lisa Apfelberg at 512-992-1217 or l.apfelberg@capitalareadentalfoundation.org

Three ways YOU can help CADF continue fulfilling its charitable mission:

1.  Eat and shop at participating local businesses during HAAM Benefit Day–which is going on TODAY.  Five percent of your purchase will go directly to HAAM.
2. Sponsor or buy tickets (or a table!!) to CADF’s Annual Gala at the Four Seasons on February 9, 2014. This is CADF’s most important fundraiser of the year.
3. Make a tax deductible gift to the CADF endowment to ensure the long-term financial security of CADF and its life-changing programs.

On September 24, HAAM will be hosting its Annual Benefit Day, one of its major fundraisers.  Click here to learn more about how you can participate and help Austin musicians continue to receive medical, dental and other services they need to stay healthy and productive!  To purchase tickets to the big benefit concert at ACL Live, click here.

The Capital Area Dental Foundation established its partnership with the St. David’s Foundation and HAAM in 2012.  Since that time, our dedicated dentists have helped hundreds of working Austin musicians, including Tommy Elskes (who performed at the Capital Area Dental Foundations’s 2013 Gala) feel better and stay healthy.

Where will YOU be February 8, 2014?

The kids are finally back to school and summer is slowly starting to wind down.

Here are the Capital Area Dental Foundation, our amazing volunteer dentists are still hard at work caring for low-income patients who have nowhere else to turn.  Patients like Walt B who had not been to a dentist in 20 years before seeing a CADF dentist through our partnership with the St. David’s Foundation and the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.

Because it costs money to make these programs available in the community, CADF is busy planning its Annual Gala which helps us raise the funds needed to sustain and expand the charitable care we are able to offer to our neighbors in need.

It’s not too early to save the date for what will surely be an unforgettable evening! This year’s Annual Gala—The Great Gatsby and Casino Night—will be held on February 8, 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Details on how you can help– tickets, sponsorship opportunities and more will be available soon.
