Founding Board Member, Dr. Kent Macaulay may be soft-spoken, but his impact on CADF speaks volumes to his character and commitment. It’s no exaggeration to say that much of what CADF has achieved in ten years, including the launch of its successful Community Dental Days, can be attributed to Dr. Macaulay’s meticulous work behind the scenes as chairman of the CADF Access to Care Committee.
A dentist for more than 44 years, Dr. Macaulay currently practices in Georgetown. In addition to his work with CADF, Dr. Macaulay has been deeply involved with the TDA Smiles Foundation and Texas Mission of Mercy events.
Dr. Macaulay began volunteering his time to help others in need back in 1985 through the Donated Dental Services. Today, as a CADF volunteer, he works with several CADF programs, including Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, St. Vincent de Paul, Season for Caring and Healthy Smiles for Texans.
Dr. Macaulay’s message to young dentists is simple: get involved. “Everyone who has gotten as far as we have to become a dentist has someone to thank-a parent, teacher, coach or friend,” said Dr. Macaulay. “Volunteering, even just one day a year at a Community Dental Day, is a way to thank the people in your life and to give back some of the blessings you have received.”
Congratulations, Dr. Macaulay for this well-deserved recognition and thank you for everyone you have done and continue to do for CADF and its patients.
